Beginners Wheel Throwing Course (Level 1)

Dive into the world of pottery with our 4 week Beginner friendly wheel throwing course, where we will teach you the fundamentals of making with clay on the wheel!

You will receive step by step guidance, with the very technical elements of wheel throwing broken down into bite size chunks, as well as feedback to help you refine your techniques and overcome challenges.

Produce a variety of pieces throughout the course, building your own personal showcase of work.

You can keep up to 8 standard pieces in this course.
Your items will be available for collection or to glaze from 3 weeks after your last session.

Course Layout

Week 1: Preparing your clay, the fundamentals of wheel throwing, coning and centering.

Week 2: Lifting your clay, exploring shapes

Week 3: Creating pieces to keep

Week 4: Trimming and finishing your pieces.

ALL SESSIONS are compulsory attendance. There are no makeup sessions. Each session is important for your skill development and essential to your learning. Please make sure you book a course month and time slot that you can attend.
